Christmas outfits!

I love buying Christmas outfits every year for my kids. This is something I got every year when I was younger and I loved it. So here are some pictures of them, enjoy.

First big snow...

We finally got a good amount of snow a few weeks ago. The kids had a blast playing in it. Luke was out there for almost 3 hours playing with the dog and building a snowman all by him self. Brooklyn wasn't out there as long and she really enjoyed eating the snow (we did warn her about the yellow snow). Love the winters here!

6 months!

Lyla just had her 6 month check up, the time goes by so fast. We are still trying to figure her out but we do love her and so glad she is in our family. She just stared sitting up by herself which I love, I love it when you can sit them on the floor with toys and they can entertain themselves. She is still trying to get use to baby food (she is not a fan) but the Dr. said to try her with more table foods now instead of the baby food. I don't have big babies but when she was born my heaviest child (7lbs 5 oz) I thought she would be my big baby but she has turned out to be a true Hansen/Smiley and is small for her age.

Weight 13.7 lbs 7% for her weight
Height 25 in 30% for her height

Proud Mama!

I am going to brag in this post. Luke's first term ended, so we got report cards and SEP meetings (parent/teacher conferences). I'm so proud of my little man, he got all 3's on his report card which is like getting all A's. Yesterday we went to his SEP meeting and his teacher had nothing but good things to say about him. The test he did at the end of the term he got 37 out of 40 correct! She said he is such a hard worker and is so kind to everyone, she never has to remind him to be kind.
Being a parent can be hard at times and I always wonder if I'm doing a good job or not, it's always good to hear that I'm doing something right.

Family

I have been so bad at getting nice family pictures in the past so my goal has been to get family pictures every year. Just on time for Christmas cards! I think they turned out pretty good. It a little picture over load but that's for my mom.

Halloween

As my kids are getting older holidays are getting a lot more fun. This year the kids dressed up as Luke Skywalker, princess Belle and a bear. When Halloween finally came it was pouring down rain, but they really wanted to go so Tyler grabbed an umbrella and they went. Because of the rain there were not many trick-or-treaters so the kids that did go out got loads of candy. ( if only they knew what it was like trick-or-treating in Oregon)

Family Dinner

Every month my Dad's side of the family gets together the first Sunday of every month for Family Home Evening. It is such a wonderful tradition that we thought that it would be fun to do our own FHE every month also. So every third Sunday we try and get together for dinner. In September we did a dutch oven dinner in the canyon. The kids played in the stream with Grandpa and we had some good food and company.

Summer is ending

Ty and I can not believe that we have a Kindergartner! Monday was his first day, we met his teacher and some of the kids in his class. He is lucky enough to have one of his primary buddies sitting next to him at his table. With summer coming to an end I look back at it and it was an eventful one. We added a new member to our family and with having a new baby around it took the kids some getting use to her. We bought and did a ton of work to our house. Met new friends, we have one of the best wards, when you live in Utah your neighbors are your ward members so we have made quick friendships. Added another new member, the dog. I thought after getting him I would regret it but I haven't, he even gets along with the cat! Now we have our first kid in Grade school! WOW time goes by way too fast. I'm looking forward to this new chapter in our lives. I've been thinking all day today how life is so good for us right now. I'm counting our blessings.

Our handsome grade school kid.

New Addition to the Family...Duke

Well dad finally caved in and got a dog! We found Duke on KSL classifieds. A family in Woods Cross couldn't give him the attention he deserved. We arranged to have the owner bring Duke up to our house so we could meet him. Right away we knew he was a keeper! Very obedient, good with the kids, doesn't jump on them, doesn't lick, etc. He is very athletic. Loves to catch frisbees and tennis balls. He's like the energizer bunny in that aspect, he keeps going and going. We are very happy to have him in our family.

blessing

It has been a busy one here at the Hansen's house. After taking possession of the house we painted the whole house and got new carpet in time to move in on the July 17th. Then came the unpacking. I am so ready to be unpacked. After having to pack and unpack my house 8 times in the last 6 years I'm glad to know that we will be staying here for a long time. Luke had his swimming lessons and of course had a blast and we are getting ready for school to start August 23. Summer has gone by way too fast.

Last Sunday we decided to bless Lyla, it was fun to have friends and family over and I'm so thankful to all that came. It was a beautiful blessing and she was so good for her blessing and the rest of the day. We did a quick little photo shoot of the kids in our backyard in their cute Sunday outfits.

His favorite part of the lesson, jumping to his teacher and off the diving board.

we had the hardest time getting a good smile out of him.

The lady of the day!
